Cycling is the best way of getting around.  Whether you want to improve your fitness and health, help the environment, save yourself money or have some fun with family and friends, choosing to cycle can solve many problems at once!

Cycling for your Health
Health professionals now recommend at least 30mins of moderate exercise 5 days a week.  Cycling to work, school, to the shops or for leisure is one of the easiest ways to incorporate regular exercise into your life. 

Cycling in Staveley
Travelling to  Windermere or Kendal from Staveley takes about 30mins cycling.

You can take your bike on the Oxenholme Windermere train.

You can hire bikes from Country Lanes at Windermere train station and Wheelbase in Staveley

Dr Bike Sessions
Bring your bicycle to one of our cycle maintenance drop ins and we will provide a free bike check for you. Drop in between 11am - 3pm on Saturday 19th June at the Pavillion in Staveley. For more details contact us or ring 01539 822 165.

BikeTrain
What? Biketrain is all about getting a group of people on their bikes and commuting from home to work. Good for your health, good for the environment and good for your wallet.

Where? The biketrain will run from Kendal to Staveley, Staveley to Kendal, Staveley to Windermere and . Departing/arriving: Kendal Library and the Spar shop at Staveley.

When? The biketrain will leave from Kendal and Staveley at 8am to arrive at approximately 8.40am. The return leg will leave at 5.15pm to arrive at 5.55pm.

Who? Kendal-Staveley with Rory from the Designworks, Staveley to Kendal with Ruth from the GTi, Windermere to Staveley with Alan from Cooper Engraving and Staveley to Windermere with Rachel from SENS (Sustainability and Energy Network in Staveley)

Biketrain will be a relaxed ride into work and a great way to finish off the week. You can also ride one way and take the bike back on the train. Biketrain will run on the third Friday of each month, starting Friday 23rd April. For more details contact us or ring 01539 822 165.
